Israeli labor party supports Palestinian right to self-determination

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa reviewed the visit of Israeli Labor Party leader Ehud Barak to Egypt.

In a press conference after their visit Moussa said that the two sides exchanged points of view toward the current status of the peace process through a good and fruitful discussion, adding that Barak has positive positions where he appreciates the peace process and its principals and he has confirmed that the Labor Party supports the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.

During the press conference Barak said that his visit to Cairo aims at presenting the message that most of Israeli people hope the peace process will be advanced, expressing his hope that during the coming few months, the peace process will view a radical transformation and restart once more along different tracks.

Barak also said that there are "basic requirements and particular red-lines for our nation" yet most of Israel's people want peace. He added that the stance of the Labor Party toward this issue is obvious: Israel has vital interests in the peace process because it serves security for Israel and its citizens.
