Egyptian minister of economy to visit the U.S. today

Youssef Butros Ghali, the Egyptian minister of economy, announced that his visit to the U.S. will begin today. The visit comes within economic cooperation relations between the two countries that include participation, subsidies and other cooperation fields aimed at discussing methods of developing and increasing investments.

He pointed out that there would be talks with officials in the U.S. administration in addition to other meetings with heads of investment companies and corporations to discuss the development and increase of joint investments between the two countries.

He also said that within this framework the Egyptian side will pursue the implementation of cooperation agreements that were approved during the recent visit of U.S. Vice-President Al Gore to Egypt and the joint meeting President Mubarak attended with the investors in the countries.
