Sudanese government troops win back towns from rebels

Sudanese dailies on Tuesday said that government troops were able to restore Shlaloub and Yarmouk towns in Ksala province, which borders Eritrea, from the hands of the opposition troops.
The Sudanese Akhbar al-Youm daily quoted the minister of education in Ksala, Abdullah Faqi, as saying that the government forces "restored the two towns by means of force from the outlaws who occupied them two weeks earlier."
Meanwhile, the governor of Khartoum province, Majzoub al-Khaleifa, said that 93% of electors voted in favor of the new constitution which was put to a referendum during May. He stated that 86.9% out of 1.7 million citizens from the province voted in the referendum.
