Kuwait Council's rejection of invitation seen as problem in crisis
Kuwait, Politics, 6/16/1998

The possibilities of dissolving Kuwait's Nation's Council (the parliament) diminished after an exceptional session of the Kuwaiti Cabinet on Sunday headed by Emir Sheikh Jabir al-Ahmed al-Sabah, in which he confirmed the strengthening of democratic support and maintaining its track.

Deputies following up on the developments said that the crisis between the government and parliament has not yet ended as Ahmed El-Sadoon, head of the Nation's Council and delegation of deputies was to meet with Shiekh Jabir al-Sabah yesterday to hear his point of view on the political dispute between the government and Nation's Council and methods of ending the crisis.

Meanwhile, Kuwaiti sources confirmed that the differences between the Nations Council and the Cabinet are wide, making it difficult to solve the crisis, referring to the Nation Council's head refusing the supper banquet given by the prime minister, Sheikh Saad al-Sabah two weeks ago.
