French - Qatari cooperation for combating terrorism

Brigadier general Hamad bin Ali Al-Attiyah the Qatari armed forces 'chief of staff announced that elements of Qatari and French forces launched yesterday a joint training exercise in Doha for combating terrorism on ships. He said that the two sides showed a high competency in the implementations.

The training exercises was carried out in two stages. The first included soldiers boarding a French war ship from rubber boats, and the second stage included dropping soldiers on board the ship from helicopters. The soldiers were practicing containment against a potential terrorist attack.

Al-Attiyah brigadier general said that this training comes within the implementation of the defense agreement between Qatar and France, adding that the Qatari armed forces practice joint training with intimate countries' forces aimed at making use of these forces' experience in helping Qatari forces raise their fighting capabilities.
