Fire rages in Moroccan forest, Spain sends assistance

A forest fire which broke out Saturday night in mountains located in northeastern Morocco could not be put out despite the intervention of the fire departments of various Moroccan security forces. Map reported.
Strong winds, complicated the work of the fire brigades who faced difficulties in accessing the mountainous region.
Morocco asked for Spainish assistance under the bilateral civil protection agreement binding the two countries. Spain sent fire-fighting aircraft and ground means to the region. No details are available on the causes or extent of the forest fire.
