Six Libyans to be Tried in Absentia in France

Six Libyan nationals will be tried next fall in absentia for their alleged role in the explosion of a French airliner in Africa in 1989, judicial sources said. The trial will examine charges that the Libyan secret service was involved in the bombing of a UTA plane that exploded and crashed over Niger while on a flight from Brazzaville, Congo, to Paris, Map reported.
