Syria - Argentine economic relations discussed

Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Muhammad al-Imadi on Tuesday discussed with the governor of the Argentine state of Cordoba and members of his accompanying delegation, trade and economic relations between Syria and Argentina and methods of increasing commerce and trade and boosting relations with Arab expatriates abroad.
The Syrian minister stressed the need to deal with several key issues to facilitate bilateral trade, especially in shipping and ensuring tax exemptions as well as in organizing joint expositions to acquaint each side with investment opportunities pertaining to the other.
Al-Imadi called for setting up a holding company between the two countries that can organize investment opportunities and encourage the establishment of joint companies and ventures that contribute to strengthening bilateral relations.
He noted privileges provided under law no. 10 on encouraging investment for Arab and foreign investors, adding that during the last 10 years, Syria has scored a 704% GDP average growth, stability in the Syrian currency against the dollar, and an inflation ratio reduction to 2.7% as a result of the political stability and security Syria enjoys.
The Argentine delegation highlighted the economic reforms which took place in Argentina and the opportunities for investments, especially in Cordoba.
