Damascus hosts Arab tourism council meetings

The first session of the two-day meetings of the Arab ministerial council will convene in Damascus on June 29. Arab League Assistant Secretary General for economic issues at the Arab League, Abdul Rahman al-Sheibani, said the council will discuss ways to strengthen and develop inter-Arab tourism.
He added that the council will also discuss the Arab Banks Union's proposal to establish inter-Arab tourism company in cooperation with Arab bodies such as the Arab investors and businessmen conference which will convene in Tunisia next year.
He added that the meeting's agenda will center on ways to urge the private sector to contribute to Arab tourism projects and establish standards for Arab tourism companies so they can compete internationally.
