Boueiz says Israel is responsible for current status

Lebanese Foreign Minister Fares Boueiz stated the need to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region according to the Madrid terms of reference and principles on the ground of which the Middle East peace process was launched.
In a statement issued on Tuesday to the Kuwaiti daily al-Seyassah, Boueiz held Israel responsible for the stumbled peace process due to Israel's denunciation of all agreements on the basis of which the peace process was initiated. Boueiz warned the Israeli government against any military actions in south Lebanon, noting any military action in the south will be costly for Israel.
On the possibility of convening an Arab summit conference, the Lebanese FM said that "convening such conference requires proper atmospheres and to be pre-guaranteed in order to succeed.
As for the European-Mediterranean partnership, the Lebanese FM stressed that the Arab Mediterranean states will seek during Palermo's next meeting on the European-Mediterranean dialogue to maintain economic trade balance with Europe.
