Lebanese resistance launches two operations against Israeli troops
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 6/10/1998

Lebanese resistance forces on Tuesday morning attacked an Israeli military position in Tumat Niha in the occupied western Bekaa. In a statement, the resistance men said they used rockets and machine-guns, adding that the position received direct hits and that some Israeli detachments were completely destroyed.

Meanwhile, a group of Lebanese resistance fighters attacked another Israeli position in Sweida in the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese resistance sources said the group observed enemy moves inside the position which was attacked and directly hit.

In another development, Israeli occupation troops renewed attacks on areas adjacent to south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said Israel's artillery shelled al-Zahrani river bed and the outskirts of Habboush and Jabal al-Rafi town in al-Tuffah district.

Meanwhile, The April Understanding monitoring committee meets today to discuss a Lebanese complaint lodged against Israel for its recent attacks against Lebanese villages adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. The five-party committee will also discuss an Israeli complaint alleging that Lebanese resistance forces fired shots against Israeli military positions in Nabatieh.
