Yemen-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 6/9/1998
A Yemeni ministerial delegation arrived in Sanaa on Monday from Saudi Arabia following a five-day official visit, during which talks were held with Saudi officials pertaining to technical and legal aspects of border demarcation between the two countries according to the Taif accord signed in 1934 and the Saudi - Yemeni memorandum of understanding signed in 1995.
Yemen's minister of legal affairs who chaired his country's delegation to the meeting, Abdullah Ahmad Ghanem, said that talks will be completed within the coming months in Sanaa, which will be visited by a Saudi delegation to discuss other details related to settling border issues. The Yemeni minister stressed the real desire of the two countries' political leaders to end this question by friendly means very soon, opening new prospects for relations between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, MENA reported.

The two countries held their last round of talks in May when Saudi Interior Minister Naif Bin Abdel Aziz sent a letter to his Yemeni counterpart Hussain Moh'd Arab shortly after the new Yemeni Cabinet was formed, MAP reported.
KUNA quoted Yemeni vice-president, Abd Rabboh Mansour as saying in earlier remarks that his country intends to seek international arbitration should stalemated negotiations between the two countries persist."
