Saudi Arabia-Iran, Agriculture, 6/9/1998

A major Iranian agricultural delegation headed by Yasser Hashemi Rafsanjani, son of former Iranian president and the Iranian agricultural minister's adviser, arrived today in Riyadh.

A source in the Iranian embassy said the delegation comprises 15 members, including the undersecretary of the Agricultural Ministry, officials in the Agriculture Ministry and other ministries, and a number of businessmen.

The source added that the delegation will spend five days, during which it will visit the Saudi capital, the eastern region, El-Madinah and Mecca.

The delegation will hold meetings with the Saudi minister of agriculture and with Saudi businessmen.

The visit aims at briefing on projects, exchanging experts, increasing the trade exchange as a whole and agricultural exchange in particular.
