Main Yemeni tribe pledges no more kidnapping of foreigners

A Yemeni tribe today pledged before President Ali Abdullah Saleh not to resort to kidnapping foreigners as a pressure means on the government.
A Yemeni official source was quoted today as saying that more than 20 prominent figures in the Bani Zubein have denounced and condemned in a written document submitted on Sunday to President Saleh all "acts of kidnapping, past, present or future ones, alike."
Persons who signed the document, at the same time, demanded the government to maintian a presence in the region, in remarks to the absence of the central authority in certain districts where armed tribes have full control.
