Iraq readies Syria oil pipeline
Iraq, Economics, 6/8/1998
Iraq said on Sunday that it was preparing its long-unused oil pipeline to Syria to export oil. Iraq has completed final arrangements to make the Iraqi-Syrian oil pipeline ready, the Iraqi News Agency "INA" quoted Oil Minister Amir Muhammad Rasheed as saying, map reported.
Iraq and Syria reopened their borders to trade late last year after a break of nearly two decades between the two countries. Iraq exports oil under an oil-for-food deal with the United Nations through its southern Gulf port of Basra and north through Turkey.
