Arab states criticize Security Council resolution on nuclear tests

Arab states' representatives to the UN on Saturday criticized the Security Council resolution denouncing Indian-Pakistani nuclear tests without referring to Israel's nuclear program. Representatives of Egypt, Bahrain, and the UAE criticized the five nuclear powers for being unable to remove Israeli nuclear weapons.
The representatives asserted that Israel is the only state that has nuclear weapons in the region, and the International Atomic Energy Agency has not carried out any inspections in it Egyptian ambassador Nabil al-Arabi expressed his regret because the resolution did not refer publicly to Israel when calling upon all the countries which have not signed the nuclear Non- Proliferation Treaty to do so.
