Damascus hosts international oil and gas exposition
Syria, Economics, 6/5/1998

Syria's first international exposition on oil and gas "Syria Oil '98" will be opened on Sunday in Damascus. Some 167 companies are taking part in the exposition, which will be on display until June 11.

These companies represent, Syria, the US, France, the UK, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Holland, the Czech Republic, Norway, Hungary, Canada, Denmark, Italy, Romania, India and Croatia.

The exposition will show items pertaining to excavation, drilling, geological surveying, drilling, engineering and consultation services, pipelines, chemicals, oils, environment protection, safety and maintenance measures and training as well as other relevant issues.

Some 500 invitees representing foreign companies are taking part in the exposition representing oil experts directors and technical in oil companies and bidders. The executive side of the exposition will be revealed in a 4-day 34 lectures in which technicians in oil fields excavations from Syria will take part.
