Syria's annual budget estimated at US $5.2 billion

The Syrian People's Assembly on Wednesday discussed the state's general draft budget for 1998 submitted by the government and estimated at 237.3 billion Syrian pounds (US $5.2 billion), representing an increase of 12 percent over the figures from last year's budget.
