Continued confrontations in Algeria

The Algerian dailies on Wednesday said that the security forces killed on Monday 15 armed group members, 10 of which were killed in al-Bueira province, 120 km, east of the capital Algiers. The Algerian daily al-Khabar said that the ten armed persons were on their way from the neighboring Burj Buorerij province when they were shelled by helicopters and killed at Hammam Kanayeseh site.
Two other Islamists were killed in Qusantinah to the east and other two in Bani al-Sous mountain, near the Algerian-Moroccan borders, where the security forces has been for weeks escalating attacks against the Armed Islamic Group.
The Le Tantique daily said that an Islamist known as A.K. Bin Mustafa was killed in Muaskar province, whereas another daily said an explosive charge was defused on Tuesday on the railway leading to Bab Ali, in a southwest suburb of the capital, MENA reported.
