Israel escalates aggressions against south Lebanon

Israeli occupation forces on Thursday renewed their aggressions against areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli artillery positioned in Muhibib hill on Thursday targeted the outskirts of Eita mountain, Hadatha, Haris, Sujoud al-Rayhan towns and Aqmata farm.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli forces shelled al-Tuffah district heights, especially Mleita hill, al-Rafei mount, Sujoud and al-Zahrani river course. The Israeli artillery bombardment coincided with Israeli air raids over al-Rafei mount, alongside intensive mopping-up with heavy weapons.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese resistance said that one of its groups attacked the occupation position in Sujoud hill with machine-guns and rockets. In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said the attack resulted in direct hits on the said position, where two fortifications were destroyed. On Thursday at dawn, the Lebanese national resistance-men observed an enemy movement on Hadatha hill, and attacked it, scoring direct hits.

Meanwhile, information from south Lebanon said that one Israeli soldier was wounded when a bomb was exploded near Bint Jbeil in the central sector.

However, an Israeli military spokesman said that one Israeli soldier was wounded in an explosive charge against an Israeli armor-patrol in the occupied part of south Lebanon. Israeli army radio reported that the explosion caused the destruction of a large number of the patrol, which was occupied by several elements.
