Israeli occupation forces shell the towns of Kafra, Yater, Hadatha
Lebanon-Israel, Military, 6/3/1998

The Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday renewed attacks on areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon.

Lebanese security sources said that the Israeli positions in Teir Harfa shelled the towns of Kafra, Yater, Hadatha, Majdal Zoun and al-Assi road. Israeli artillery also targeted the outskirts of Khrbet Salam town and al-Qeyseyeh valley. The bombardment coincided with heavy machine-gun fire from Israeli troops.

Fake raids were also carried out by Israeli warplanes over the western and central sectors of south Lebanon as well Nabatieh and al-Tuffah districts, Lebanese security sources said.

Meanwhile, Lebanese resistance forces carried out several operations against Israeli forces and their allies in the occupied part of south Lebanon. In a statement, the resistance said its forces attacked repeatedly on Tuesday morning the Israeli positions in al-Salaa', al-Qantara and Sujoud.

The resistance also attacked Israeli military reinforcements on Hadatha road, and SLA militia patrol in the occupied part of South Lebanon. The statements asserted that these attacks in which resistance fighters used anti armor shells, machine-guns and mortars have scored direct hits against their positions.
