Lebanese Premier meets with Egyptian counterpart

Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri today in Beirut met with his Egyptian counterpart Amr Moussa. Talks dealt with Lebanese-Egyptian, conditions in the Arab region and efforts exerted on the Arab and international levels to give the stumbled peace process a push forward on all tracks.
Following the meeting, Moussa held Israel responsible for the deteriorated peace process. He cited, "current Arab and international contacts to safeguard the peace process," noting the recent initiative advocated by Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak and French President Jacques Chirac to convene an international conference for the Middle East peace process.
He elaborated that Europe can carry out an active role in Middle East peace during the coming phase, stressing the key role played by the US as the Middle East peace process's main cosponsor.
