Beletagi: Egypt fulfilled all tourist requirements

Egyptian Minister of Tourism Mamdouh El-Beltagi said that Egypt has fulfilled many call to enhance the tourists' experience, especially by freeing up ownership of estates and establishing architectural styles in tourist villages that suit their tastes.

In press statements, he added that tourists visiting Egypt in April numbered 297,000 compared to 344,000 in the same month last year, a reduction of 14%.

El-Beltagi said that there are currently 630 projects under implementation at a cost of LE 31 billion ($9.07 billion), of which the Egyptian capital accounts for 75% with private sector participation, which tackles tourist investment since 1993, contributing 100%.

He added that nearly 25% of the tourist investments are from the U.S., Italy, France, Spain and Saudi Arabia.
