Qatar to increase petroleum production in the year 2000

Qatari Minister of Industry and Energy Abdullah Bin Hamad El-Ataya said today that his country's petroleum production will increase to 854,000 barrels daily in the year 2000, adding that average production recently increased to 714,000 barrels per day.
He added that there is a development plan that includes new projects under study, among which are Ozone projects, projects to export gas to Pakistan, a project for converting gas to liquid and petrochemical projects.
