A message from Qatari emir to Iranian president

Iranian Vice-President Hassan Habibi on Sunday received the Qatari ambassador in Tehran, who delivered to him a message from the ruler of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani, to Iranian President Muhammad Khatami.
During the meeting Habibi called for developing and strengthening bilateral relations between Iran and Qatar. He stressed the importance of exchanging visits and consultations between the two countries' officials to establish security and stability in the Gulf region and boost relations between Iran and the Gulf Cooperation Council member states.
The Qatari ambassador stressed his country's wish to foster relations with Iran in all fields, especially economics.
