Egypt, Sudan settle main disputes
Egypt-Sudan, Politics, 6/1/1998

Sudanese Irrigation Minister Sharif al-Tuhami said that Egypt and Sudan have settled most of their disputes over the Egyptian properties in Khartoum, and Halaib border triangle on the Red Sea.

In statements to the Egyptian daily al-Akhbar issued on Sunday, al-Tuhami added that agreements have so far been reached concerning 80% of the Egyptian firms in Khartoum and Halaib negotiations, adding that all these "topics are debated fraternally between the two countries."

Al-Tuhami is taking part in the meetings of the Sudanese-Egyptian joint technical commission on the Nile waters which started on Saturday. Talks have centered on means of cooperation regarding the waters of the Nile and on coordinating bilateral stances during Nile basin states conference due to be held in Cairo in September.
