Arafat for an Arab summit to coordinate stances
Palestine, Politics, 6/1/1998
Palestinian President Yasser Arafat asserted that it is very important to convene Arab summit in order to coordinate stances prior to an international conference proposed for achieving peace in the Middle East.
In a statement to the Gulf News Agency on Sunday, Arafat added that Arab leaders showed a desire to convene the summit but the final decision to convene it has not arrived at yet. Arafat, who left the United Arab Emirates on Sunday following an official visit, said a summit would enable Arabs states to reach a united position concerning sensitive issues, especially the Palestinian question.
