Egyptian products fair in Baghdad next month
Egypt-Iraq, Economics, 5/30/1998

The Egyptian ministers of trade and industry, Ahmed Goweili and Soliman Reda, will inaugurate a week-long fair for Egyptian products that will be held in Baghdad starting on June 16.

An economic source told ArabicNews.com today that the fair is regulated by the international conference and fairs organization affiliated to the ministry of trade for the first time in Iraq since the imposition of international sanctions in 1991. About 43 private and public companies working in the fields of food, medical equipment, medicine, ready-made clothes and building materials will participate in the fair.

The source added that Goweili and Reda will hold talks with their Iraqi counterparts concerning opening an Iraqi Trade Center in Cairo and reviving the trade and industrial cooperation protocol signed by the Egyptian and Iraqi industry unions in May 1996.
