Abdul Wahab Darawshe: Israeli people tend to extremism
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 5/30/1998
Abdul Wahab Darawshe, the head of the Arab Democratic Party in Israel, expressed his hope of convening an Arab summit to discuss the latest peace process and the Israeli refusal to implement its signed agreements with the Palestinians.
In a statement today, Darawshe said, "What is demanded for the Arab summit is that all the Arab countries should participate in it to take a united position to confront Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu."
He added, "No Arab or Moslem person accepts Jerusalem's occupation, and Israel cannot guarantee its security without a just comprehensive peace."
Darawshe said, "The Israeli majority still supports Netanyahu's policies, a matter which proves that the Israeli people tend to extremism."
