Arafat faces no-confidence vote

The Palestinian Legislative Council has decided to take a no-confidence vote on Saturday against Palestinian President Yasser Arafat in light of government inaction on domestic issues and falling support among the Palestinian public, CNN reported.
In January, Labor Minister Samir Ghosheh resigned over government inaction on issues including the failure of the administration to reshuffle the Cabinet, a source of past friction between Arafat and the PLC. The legislature came close to holding a no-confidence vote at the end of last year, but held off as action was promised by the administration.
