Chirac starts visit to Lebanon today

French President Jacques Chirac starts today a three-day official visit to Lebanon.
President Chirac will hold talks with Lebanese President Elias Hrawi and with high-ranking Lebanese officials aiming at reactivating and developing bilateral relations, reviewing the situation in the south of Lebanon and the Middle East peace process.
During this visit, the French President will inaugurate the headquarters of the French embassy in Beirut at al-Snouber place and will take part in the official opening session of the eighth general assembly of the international societies of phrancophonic municipality heads.
This is Chirac's third visit to Lebanon in two years.
