Ceasefire monitors hold Israel, South Lebanon Army allies responsible for violations

The April Understanding monitoring committee has held Israel responsible together with its allied South Lebanon Army militia for violating the provisions of the April Understanding by launching many attacks targeting populated areas in south Lebanon and the western Bekaa. The attacks wounded or killed a number of citizens as well as inflecting material losses and casualties on populated houses and orchards.

In its statement, the committee asserted that Israel is responsible for the attacks took place in Maidoun and Mashghara in the western Bekaa, in which four civilians were wounded and a number of houses demolished.

The monitoring committee's report added that Israel violated the provisions of April Understanding by shelling the towns of al-Manouri, Yater, Hadatha, Majdal Zoun and Kafra in the western sector. It urged Israel to abide by the items of April Understanding and called on it to stop shellings of civilians.
