UAE calls for an Arab summit

The United Arab Emirates asserted the need to convene an urgent Arab conference to counter the challenges the Arab nation has undergone as a result of the stumbled Middle East peace process.
During his Wednesday meeting with former Sudanese Prime Minister al-Sadeq al-Mahdi, UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed al-Nahyan in Abu Dhabi called for convening an urgent Arab summit in order to restore Arab solidarity, discuss developments in the Arab arena and find a united, solid Arab position in order to deal with the adverse consequences of Middle East peace process possible collapse.
The UAE official also urged all Sudanese sides to maintain solidarity and coordination for the interests of their country and to settle internal disputes to preserve Sudan's might and prosperity.
