Palestinian leaders meets king Fahd

Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, in a surprise step, visited Saudi Arabia and met with King Fahd to discuss reviving the Middle East peace process. The two leaders discussed means of pressuring Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well as the Egyptian - French joint proposal for an international conference of "countries determined to save the Middle East peace process," the official Saudi Press Agency said yesterday.
SPA said the meeting took place at king Fah'd Al-Salam palace in the Red Sea port city of Jeddah. King Fahd and President Arafat also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region.
