Algeria: National Assembly distributes posts among its members

The political bureau of Algeria's ruling National Democratic Assembly party held a meeting yesterday evening in order to distribute posts among its 15 members, who were elected on May 14-15.
An official source in the party told ArabicNews.com that eight of the bureau's members assumed the leadership of eight factional committees.
Meanwhile five of the bureau's members have not assumed any responsibilities, General Mohammed Batchen, advisor to President Liamine Zeroual; Abdel-Qader Bin Saleh, the head of the People's Assembly; Ahmed Oyehia, the Algerian prime minister; Mekdar Seify, the deputy head of the people's assembly; and Mohammed al-Sherif Abass, the secretary-general of the strugglers' organization.
