Saudi crown prince confers with Arafat

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and chairman of the National Guard yesterday met at al-Salam (peace) palace in Jeddah with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat and members of his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Saudi Arabia.
The two sides discussed the Palestinian situation, the Middle East peace process and the deadlock it has reached. Current conditions in Arab, Islamic and international arenas were reviewed. Arafat and members of his accompanying delegation arrived in Jeddah on Sunday night.
The Saudi crown prince also met today in Jeddah with the chairman of the Kuwaiti Ummah (nation) council delegation, led by the chairman of the council's foreign affairs committee, Abdul Aziz al-Adasani, currently visiting Saudi Arabia.
During the visit, the Kuwaiti delegation will hold talks with senior Saudi officials on means of fostering cooperation relations between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in all fields and review current conditions on the regional, Arab and international arenas.
