ACSAD, UNEP sign accord

An accord on developing water resources was signed on Monday in Damascus by the Arab Center of Studies of Arid Areas and Arid Zones and the UN Environment Program.
In collaboration with Arab countries in Western Asia, ACSAD and the UNEP the accord provide for carrying out studies on modern methods and advanced techniques for the development of water resources as well as on the best means to enrich arable water resources with new water supplies by means of unconventional methods.
The accord will take into consideration technological aspects, running the new enterprises of water resources development, and water resources in relation to the environment and the rural community.
