G-15 focus on giving voice to less-developed countries
Egypt-Regional, Politics, 5/25/1998

The Arab affairs committee at the Foreign Ministry and National Security in the consultation council issued a statement about the work and outcome of the G-15 group of developing countries' summit meeting in Cairo.

The group's work represent development in efforts to become "an effective international doer," participating heavily in forming a new system representing the less-developed world countries.

The most important priority for the southern countries in the current stage is to take care of the less-developed countries' interests in the new world system.

The statement added that globalization represents the main characteristic of the world after the cold war, yet in its current form it does not express the interests of all the provinces and countries of the world, and to a great extent it includes unbalanced policies some of which have to be reconsidered.
