Egyptian, Italian disussions coming

The secretary-general of the Italian Foreign Ministry will pay a visit to Cairo on June 13-14 to hold meetings for political consultations in implementation of the agreement between the Egyptian and Italian foreign ministers calling for discussions between the two countries' Foreign Ministries twice a year.

Ambassador Ahmed Abu El-Ghit, the assistant Egyptian foreign minister, met on Saturday with the Italian ambassador in Cairo, in order to discuss the Middle East and the situations in the Gulf and the peace process, as well as developments in the Barcelona process and means of insuring the greatest efficiency in meetings to evaluate the Barcelona agreement that will be held in Palermo.

The general African situation will also be discussed as well as other African problems of direct interest to Egypt and Italy.
