Sudanese official attacks US remarks are false
Sudan-USA, Politics, 5/23/1998
A Sudanese official denied US accusations towards Sudan, that it does not cooperate in combating terrorism, while Sudanese news reports said Sudanese police arrested 170 persons near Khartoum after discovering a suspected group of vandals working to benefit the opposition.
The Sudanese National Council's deputy leader, Abdul Aziz Shedo criticized the statement of the US State Department as needing accurate information and lacking objective viewpoints, and it comes within the US's anti-Sudan campaigns.
Then the deputy said Khartoum changed many of its laws after the attempt to assassinate Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Addis Ababa in June 1995, implying the existence of better laws to fight terrorism.
