Yemeni President satisfied with border demarcation process with Saudis

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has expressed satisfaction over the progress of negotiations on joint border demarcation with Saudi Arabia.
On the occasion of the anniversary of uniting the two parts of Yemen (North and South) which falls on May 22, 1990, and is celebrated as the national day of Yemen, the Yemeni president expressed satisfaction with the progress attained in negotiations on border demarcation between the two countries.
He added that Yemen will always be careful to make the negotiations a success, to solve pending issues between the two countries and to look forward to complete demarcation on remaining borders make the borders bridges of joint fraternal cooperation in the march of security and stability in the Arab peninsula and the Middle East region as a whole.
Negotiations on border demarcation started between the two countries in 1995, but have not achieved so far tangible results. The two countries' borders were sites for of confrontations between the two sides in November 1997.
In 1995, the two countries signed an accord providing for normalizing bilateral relations and border demarcation.
