Sudanese President: new constitution permits Islamic parties

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Tuesday stressed that the new Sudanese constitution over which a referendum was concluded this week permits the establishment of political parties as long as they do not contradict Islamic Sharia, al-alWan reported..
The Sudanese daily al-alWan (Colors) quoted President al-Bashir as saying in a public meeting that parties will not be permitted in the northern part of the country unless the Islamic Sharia is enforced there.
