A call to revive the Arab joint market

The national Egyptian Council For Production And Economic Affairs, affiliated to the National Specialized Council, called yesterday for expansions in establishing bilateral free trade zones on the Arab level, taking care not to have trade rules exceptions and to control the regulatory and administrative procedures which obstruct commercial exchange among the Arab states.
In its meeting, chaired by Atef Sedki, the former Egyptian prime minister, the national council called for intensification and coordination of efforts to revive as well as develop the Arab joint market to resume its establishing principles during a limited period and to start establishing an Arab free trade zone as an essential step in this direction, taking into consideration the international situation.
The council emphasized the importance of encouraging effective participation among non-governmental organizations in investment projects and economic activities which support Arab economic cooperation.
