Iran holding military maneuvers in the Gulf

Iran said it is holding three military maneuvers at one time this week in western Iran and in the northern Gulf.
A high-ranking officer in the Iranian armed forces said that the Iranian naval forces will conduct maneuvers near Boshar beach in the northern Gulf, while land forces are conducting maneuvers in Khaozestan and Sheraz governorates in western Iran to coincide with the 16th anniversary of liberating Kharmashhar from Iraqi occupation in 1982.
Air maneuvers will be made on 225 cubic kilometers and will last for three days during which 800 pilots and military officers from the air force will participate to test the capabilities the U.S. F-4 and F-5 fighters -- in spite of the fact that the U.S. has imposed a complete embargo on selling weapons and spare parts to Iran since 1979.
