Saudi Arabia for resuming peace talks
Saudi Arabia-Regional, Politics, 5/19/1998

Saudi Arabia has affirmed the need to resume talks on the Syrian and Lebanese peace process tracks from the point at which they broke off, and to get implemented U.N. Security Council resolution 425, which calls for Israel's unconditional and full withdrawal from south Lebanon.

In a Cabinet meeting held on Monday and presided over by King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, the Cabinet ministers appealed to the international community, particularly the United States, to take effective and swift action to bring the peace process back on track.

In a statement he read on Monday following the Saudi Cabinet ministers' meeting, Saudi Information Minister Fuad Abdul Salam al-Farisi noted that the Cabinet ministers are following up with great concern the outcomes of the recent bloody clashes that erupted between the Palestinian people in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and the Israeli occupation authorities in which hundreds of Palestinians were killed or wounded.
