367 million UAE Dirham investment in Syrian phone system

A loan agreement between Syria and Abu Dhabi Fund for Development was signed in Damascus Monday for financing a project for telephone communications in Syrian cities and rural areas.
The 367 million UAE Dirham project will solve the rising demand for communication services all over the country. It will provide 1.65 million electronic telephone numbers and other relevant telephone-centered facilities.
Signatories of the agreement, Economy Minister Muhammad Imadi and President of the Abu Dhabi Fund Saeed al-Rumeithi exchanged friendly speeches emphasizing the strong relations and fraternal ties between Syria and UAE. They referred to the significance of the project being financed by this loan and which will lead to coping with scientific advancement in telecommunications as well as to the development and consolidation of economic cooperation between the two countries.
