Egypt - New Zealand committee to meet at month's end
Egypt-New Zealand, Economics, 5/18/1998

The meetings of the first session of the Egyptian - New Zealand joint committee will be held at the end of the current month.

Ahmed Goweili, Egypt's minister of trade and supply, will head the Egyptian side in the committee while the New Zealand delegation will be headed by Minister of International Trade Lockwood Smith.

Ambassador Said Ragab, the assistant foreign minister for Asian affairs, said this committee will discuss two economic and trade agreements aiming at activating economic trade cooperation and opening new markets for Egyptian exports.

Then he said the News Zealand trade minister's visit is the first visit paid by an official from this country to Egypt in six years, adding that Smith will hold discussions with high-ranking Egyptian officials during his visit aiming at enhancing cooperation between the two countries in political, trade and economic fields.
