Egyptian authorities allow Sudanese to visit Cairo
Egypt-Sudan, Politics, 5/18/1998

The Egyptian security authorities allowed about 250 Sudanese coming across Halfa valley harbor to enter Egypt according to the visas that they obtained from the Egyptian embassy in Khartoum, and is responding to their desire to visit their relatives residing in Egypt or get checkups on their health.

Abdullah Soliman El-Awad, the Sudanese secretary of foreign relations, said that the return of some Sudanese citizens from Cairo airport two days ago was an individual event that does not express the Egyptian leadership's instructions. He stated that Sudanese - Egyptian joint relations would overcome these difficulties in order to reach integrity and normalization in their relations.

In press statements Soliman said the bilateral technical talks for restoring the Egyptian properties had not yet ended and the Egyptian delegation will return to Sudan soon.
