Bahrain refutes allegations or detainees numbers

Bahrain's Minister of the Interior Sheikh Muhammad Bin Khaleifa has denied recent news reports that the number of detainees arrested in recent incidents that took place in the country number in the thousands and that some of them stay for a long time without trial and judicial conviction. The Gulf News Agency said
the Bahraini minister elaborated in a statement to the "Gulf News" daily that the number of detainees does not exceed one thousand, noting that such false news reports are usually fabrications from "illegal groups residing outside the country."
