Arafat in Jordan discuss U.S. efforts

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat arrived today in the Jordanian capital Amman, where he will meet with Jordanian Monarch King Hussein to discuss recent developments in the peace process.

Chief negotiator in Palestine Saeb Erekat said that Arafat will inform King Hussein about the recent situations in the occupied territories and the escalation of events by Israel in the occupied lands.

Moreover Arafat will inform the king about recent U.S. efforts with regard to the peace process and communications by the U.S. administration with the Palestinian government for expressing flexibility.

Arafat will also inform King Hussein about the brief of U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright's communications with him in which Albright informed Arafat about the U.S. point of view and the recent developments after her meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington.
